I originally wanted a car seat, but chose this one because of the low price and the fact that it was larger than most other small dog carriers out there.
I have a 13-pound brussels griffon and it fits her with room to spare. The three opening panels are really nice and helped her adapt to the crate because there was more open air.
You cannot pick this crate up with the animal inside! It has a soft bottom, so this is a containment unit only, not a transportation unit. The carry case is really handy too and makes it easy to travel with.
The washable sherpa mat on the bottom is pretty nice, but I still put a blankie inside.
She scratched and scratched at the front mesh (which I was sure would tear) but it didn't! She eventually did figure out how to unzip the unit later in the day (still not sure how she figured that one out), but never damaged the unit.
Took about 3 minutes to set up and is about 1/3 of the cost of similar products you would buy at petco/petsmart.
Overall, well worth the money!
