(More customer reviews)We got this because our old one leaked out the end of the metal feeder tube because of a poor seal. This one is a lot better because because the valve at the end of the feeder tube is spring loaded and has a rubber gasket making for a much more positive seal.
Unfortunately, the one I got leaks around the cap because of a poor fit to the bottle. I have no idea if this problem is common or very rare on this product. The plastic feeder cap is designed to provide a good fit with a bottle that is uniform around the entire circumference of the opening. Unfortunately, this bottle is thicker at the mold seams preventing the cap from seating tightly all the way around. I fixed mine by carefully shaving down inner circumference of the bottle right at the mold joints so it had a uniform thickness all the way around. The cap has a good rubber grommet between the cap and the bottle, but the thickness of the bottle just at the seams prevents the cap from seating all the way. I wish I had taken before and after pictures to post here.
Aside from that issue, I highly recommend this product. It is certainly better than the water feeder I had before which had no rubber grommet in the feeder tube and the ball bearing plug relied on gravity rather than a spring to make a good seal.
