(More customer reviews)We bought two of these to transport our two cats during a 13 hour relocation. The carriers are definitely cat proof against fits of clawing. I was afraid the mesh would tear when one of them started clawing hysterically at it, but it held up well. There were no tears or scratches and there was plenty of space for a fully grown cat to lie down comfortably, with plenty of room to maneuver.
I liked the mesh sides,which made it easier to check on the cats without having to open it up. The plush mat was detachable so we could wrap puppy pads around it for the journey and the side pocket was useful for storage of extra puppy pads with treats.

Petmate Pet Taxi Kennel, For Small Pets 7 to 9 Inches Tall, Blue Air/Spa Teal Review

(More customer reviews)I bought this to take a cat (as cargo) across the country. When I received it I noticed it was MUCH smaller then expected, I would say this is better for the 7" animals then the 9" animals.
Here are a couple of things to notice...
- The connecting mechanism is a clamp, not a screwing system. I have been told (though not confirmed) that this might make a difference to some airlines as some are requesting connectors to be screw only.
- The dimensions were not shown in the product description. They are 19"x12.6"x10".
- On the top of the unit there are two flaps that can hold pills or small amounts of food.
- It come with a small dish that clips inside the carrier which is OK, but with this or any other food dish you need to calculate the hindrance to the movement of the animal due to added area of the dish. Mainly airlines will want the animal to have enough room to turn around.
Overall not a terrible product, it would have been fine if my cat was smaller, returned it for that reason only.

(More customer reviews)Purchased for travel with my Scottie. Fit perfectly infront of airline seat. My Scott is about 15 pounds and the medium size fits her well (she can turn around inside of it). When were traveling in the car, you'll find her either napping inside or sitting on top of the bag to give her more height to look out the window. Great bag!

Sherpa Standard Carrier - to 20 lbs Brown Review

(More customer reviews)I bought this carrier and really like it. However, I think for a pet weighing 20 lbs it would be a very tight fit. My cat weighs 11.5 and fits in fairly well with room to spare. She can't really stand in it and hold her head up, but cats tend to lay down anyway. I would recommend this for pets weighing up to 14-15 lbs at most. Otherwise, I really like it. The fabric is sturdy and the bed part is nice and soft for my pet.
I really like the top opening. Getting my cat in the carrier was easier than getting her in the hard, front opening carrier I had because I just opened the top and she just plopped right in with no fuss.
However, I did read a review where someone's cat chewed through the mesh in about an hour. My cat never tried clawing or chewing the mesh and seemed to enjoy looking out at the view, so I had not issues with it. I would recommend this product for pets up to 15 lbs and am considering buying another for my other cat.

(More customer reviews)This Sherpa pet carrier duffle must have been designed by a woman! I bought one in size small in September after looking at scads of carriers online. I needed one that would fit under the seat in front of me on a Southwest Airlines flight. (I got the under-seat dimensions from the SW web site. I don't know whether the size medium also fits but I would guess it does; the most significant measurement is the height.) I was bringing a 3-month-old stray/feral kitten from Albuquerque to Houston and the features of this carrier worked so well. It has sturdy zippered openings at either end, which are reinforced with a rigid "arc" that prevents the soft-sided carrier from collapsing on your pet. There is also a zippered opening flap on the top, which makes it easy to slide a treat inside without creating an escape opportunity! Speaking of which, one zippered end of the carrier has a sewn-in tether of about five inches that has a clip at the end -- for clipping to your pet's collar to prevent an airport escape! Sturdy mesh ventilation panels at both ends and on one side. The other side has a roomy zippered pocket topped with that adjustable stretchy stuff that accomodates a water bottle or whatever. The carrier has a shoulder strap but, more important, two hand handles that Velcro together and make for easier pet carrying than does a shoulder strap. For the 7 hours of car travel and flight, I removed the nice faux sheepskin pad, put at the back of the carrier an 8x8 foil baking pan with cat litter in it (latex gloves in the zippered pocket for poop plucking!), and a towel at the front! Our travel experience was great and we continue to appreciate the Sherpa carrier for vet appointments. Kitten and Kitten-Owner Approved!

(More customer reviews)We love this carrier! Our dog looks rediculous but he is really comfortable and just hangs out while in it.
Here's a tip; if you find the straps slipping off your shoulders, just criss-cross them in the back. The additional support it gives is fabulous and it feels completely secure.
Great product and always puts a smile on our faces when we see our dog in it, just too funny!

(More customer reviews)I bought this to transport an 8 week old Samoyed puppy on an airplane. She was about 8 lbs when we traveled and maybe it's because her coat makes her look bulky, but she was just able to fit in the bag laying down and standing. There wasn't room to put anything in it but her and one toy. She labored a little to turn around in it, but she was able to do it. This bag fit under the seat nicely but there is no extra room. The plane was American Airlines. It will butt up against the bar for the seat in front of you and against your shoes. It's a nice looking bag and the dog seemed comfortable. She slept in it the entire 2 flights (we had a layover) without a peep or whine or anything. And no, she was not under any kinds of meds. The bag was that comfortable for her.
Don't rely on the weight to measure whether your dog will fit in it. Measure the dog's dimensions because while my 8 lb large breed dog couldn't fit in it anymore when she was 12 lbs, I can fit my 4 lb toy breed dog in there fine with probably 4-6 of his friends.
Nice bag for travel. It does the job.
