I purchased this product because I wanted to be able to take my pets for a walk, but my pets just happen to be cats. Since I never got around to leash training them, I thought this would be a nice alternative.
When I got the stroller put together, my Snowshoe cat, Bucky, immediately hopped inside and got comfortable. I didn't want to push my luck, so I let him sit for a few minutes. After I was pretty sure he was happy, I started strolling him around the living room, which he was totally okay with. After a while of doing that, I took him out into our driveway. Never once did he show signs of panic or distress. He just sniffed the night air that he wasn't really used to, and looked at his new surroundings. Once he came back inside, his sister, Bells, wanted a turn. So we actually put both cats in the stroller at once (it was a little tight, but they had room to move) and took them around the driveway. Keep in mind that I have large cats. Bucky is 15 lbs and Bells is about 13.5 lbs, both with large frames. I was tickled pink that they took to it so well. I wish I could post a picture of Bucky napping in his stroller. He just loves it!
The stroller is easy to assemble, and it appears to be structurally sound. I added a fuzzy blanket to the basket to make it a little more comfortable for my cats, who both enjoy the comforts of an indoor cat life. The ride is smooth enough to be expected from a stroller without shocks or rubber tires. When pushing it over a smooth surface, it is a very smooth ride. The only trouble was with the bumps that come with a concrete sidewalk. I live in a suburban neighborhood, so we simply rode on the street instead.
I would highly recommend this to other cat parents. I know it seems silly, but it is a great way for sheltered, indoor cats to experience nature and fresh air with the minimum risk. By the way, my cat, Bells, just hopped into the stroller as I typed that last sentence, and I can see her kneading the blanket, and I can hear her purr. :) Once you get over the initial silliness of it, it is just fun. Why should dogs and babies be the only ones allowed on walks? My cats want to go too!!!
